Nowadays in nail art world there are a lot of ways to create unique and interesting designs in easy way.
One of them is with the help of ready-made slider design also called slider stickers or water decals.

What is slider design ? Why is called “slider”?

Slider design (from English to slide - slide, slide) - this is a special ultra-thin stickers with a variety of patterns that are separated (shifted) from the substrate after interacting with water.
These stickers do not thicken the nail plate and look as natural as possible.

The slider design is an ultra-thin film with a pattern on a paper backing. Despite the fact that the film is very thin, it is quite strong and elastic, which allows it to easily move along the nail.

Types of slider designs / slider stickers

There are several types of nail art sliders. Among them are four main:

1) Multi-color or monophonic slider design
Such type may have transparent or non-transparent basis

2) Metallic foil sliders or holographic foil sliders

In most cases such slider stickers has transparent base and more thin structure. 

3) 3D volume slider design

It is volume stickers on transparent foils an analog of sculpture or acrylic volume designs. The advantage is that the ornaments are more distinct and sophisticated.

4) 3D liquid crystal slider

It is mixture of 3D slider stickers and holographic foils which makes design looks like liquid stone. To make volume stone you should use thiсk sculpture gel 

How to use slider design?

1. Prepare nails as usual (clean, file, buff, primer coat, base coat)

2. Make color covering (1-2 coats as you need), dry in lamp.

3. Take 3d slider and cut element of design with scissors.

4. Lowered in the water element of design on 10-20 seconds. Or place the cut slider element on a wet cotton disc with a white substrate down on 10-20 seconds

5. Put  element of design on the napkin and remove all water(using tweezers).

6. Slide image from paper layer  and put on nail, press a little, remove air from slider.

7. If you use 3D slider make covering with thick top  gel around the element design, its like creating little bumpers, dry in lamp. 
If you use not volume sliders just cover with 2 layers of top coat.

8. Cover the entire nail and element design with thin layer of top -gel, then dry in lamp. 
Remove sticky layer.

Design is ready.

Why slider designs sometimes wearing not long?

In some cases, the slider can badly keeps on the nails and the reasons for this are a lot:

• The nails are very stratified, and the slider lags behind along with the upper part of the nail plate. You should care of nails, strengthen them,take some vitamins .
• You have not carefully applied the sticker, air bubbles have formed under it, because of which, the slider is in motion.
• You have subjected your nails to sudden temperature changes, used aggressive detergents.
• It is possible that you hurried a little and the base coat under the sticker did not dry properly.
• Forgot to apply the finish coating.
• Your hands are constantly in contact with hot water, which damages the manicure and not only with the sliders.

Some useful tips:

1. To adjust slider design in the area of ​​the side rollers and the cuticle you should use  a brush or sharp tip of an orange sticks dipped in a removing liquid
Under the influence of removing liquid the slider foil dissolves, which allows you to carefully remove its excess.

2. To separate the slider design from the base layer, you can also use a cotton disc or a cloth soaked in water. Place the cut slider element on a wet cotton disc with a white substrate down,
squeeze a little and leave it for a few seconds. After this, the film is also easily shifted from the base layer, and there is no excess moisture in comparison with dipping in water

3. Regardless of whether you use polish of gel polish, do not forget to carefully seal the front of the nail. This will allow you to better fix the slider design and extend the time of manicure wearing.

4. If you are using a slider design for the whole nail plate, it is not worth to fix it very close to the side rollers and cuticle. Leave a gap of 1-1.5 mm to allow you to seal the slider design from all sides.
